Many people feel the need to save holiday cards and then those cards just end up sitting in storage, never to see the light of day again. But you can turn holiday cards into new ornaments that will give them a new lease on life and will bring your loved ones into your home in some way every year.
Create a Card Cube – Six photos or images are needed for a card cube. It’s a great way to highlight one family and show how they’ve changed over the years.
Card Angels – Take cards that do not have photos and turn them into angels by cutting in half and wrapping one half into a cone shape for the body and accordion folding the other half to form the wings. Some trimming may be required. Then add a round wooden bead for the head.
Greeting Card Placemats – Glue a card collage onto a plain plastic place mat and then apply a sheet of self adhesive plastic paper over the top to protect it.
Card Gift Box – Create a gift box that can be used year after year. Decoupage a regular shoe box with a collage of several Christmas cards. Suddenly you’ve got an attractive way to wrap presents that you can use over and over and it’s environmentally friendly.
Come up with your own crafty ideas and ways to reuse old Christmas cards rather than letting them collect dust in storage.
